Alternative Approaches to Hiring Pop-up Event

A panel discussion and micro-business pop-up

(Gaylord, Michigan) North Country Community Mental Health (NCCMH) is sponsoring its first Alternative Approaches to Hiring event on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at C.R.A.V.E. restaurant in Gaylord (148 W Main St) from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The event is free.

Panel speakers will be David Hornibrook, NCCMH Community Services Coordinator; Kevin Young, owner of the Village Market in Rapid City and Elk Rapids; and employees supported by North Country.

Several micro-businesses will share their products and services at the event.

One of the event organizers, David Hornibrook, says, “Area employers may not be aware of several options for recruitment that provide access to an untapped, loyal and skilled talent pool along with cost-effective incentives.”

Hornibrook added, “We hope to share information with area employers about available support for training, retention, tax benefits, and more.”

North Country Community Mental Health provides services to residents of Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Kalkaska and Otsego Counties experiencing a serious mental illness, severe emotional problem, or intellectual/developmental disability, including individuals with co-occurring substance use disorder.
