Challenge Mountain and North Country Community Mental Health hosted a Halloween Drive-Thru Spooktacular for persons with disabilities on Friday, October 30.
In partnership with Challenge Mountain staff and volunteers, we planned a ghostly drive through the woods with stations where clients could pick up goodies, all with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
Stations were designed around themes including werewolves, spiders, witches, ghosts, pirates, graveyards, and more. An “I Spy” game was created for people to play in the car as they moved along the route. Trick or treat candy was shared in small snack size zip lock bags at each station, through use of long, spookily decorated grabber sticks for additional safety.
Everyone who came through left with lots of smiles and thumbs up.
Funding was graciously provided by Knights of Columbus. Delicious cider and donuts were provided by Family Fare.
